Whom do they turn to in such desperate situations but the one loyal, irreplaceable worker always at their side….THE COLLIE !! This wonderful dog... So maligned nowadays because many people cannot take the trouble or time to unlock all the gifts locked inside this unique animal. Now, in such severe weather times, we see just how valuable the collie can be. Maybe drones can help locate, but otherwise, the world of technology, tractors, quad bikes and the rest are totally ineffective in such weather conditions. Farmers who have taken their time to nurture a bond with their companion are now hopefully reaping the reward for all their work. They work in harmony built up through experience. The farmer can trust his dog and knows he will not shirk the task ahead. But please as so often happens, let people not start putting them on their list of things they must have. This dog does not suffer fools gladly. If you do not take time with a collie, know why you want one in the first place please stay well away. For their sake. At present collies make up far and away the highest number of dogs in rescue shelters. Many of them were placed there because their owners thought it would be in keeping with some Image they had in their minds. Please, please take this dog seriously... or stay away...
